The Book
This book deals with many issues of special education in India. It is a tale of a professional who is working hard to sensitize the society as well as the government about special children. The casestudies presented in the book reveals facts about mental retardation, autism, down’s syndrome, dyslexia, learning disability and many behavioural disorders.

The case studies are narrated with professional skills. One can feel the tinge of love and concern towards special children, which is the essence of the book.

A road less travelled, has been explored by the author over past 23 years. The milestones of this journey have been documented in this book. While reading the book one feels the pulse of an educationist who has a deep conviction for the society. One can relish the moments of joy, satisfaction, fun, humour, sorrow and grief of a special world, a world of stars.

The Author
Dr.Shubhada H N, who is into inclusive education, is running an experimental school at Bangalore where children with special needs are integrated with the normal. She has won many National awards to her credit. To name a few she has been awarded by NCERT for 13 consecutive years. Her papers on early childhood education and special education have been published by MHRD. The state government has conferred her with 2 prestigious State Awards. She is a freelancer, who writes in leading Kannada daily.
